BATH ESTATE, Roseau- July 4, 2023 – The Dominica Football Association (DFA) announced today its multi venue Regional Training Center (RTC) Tournament scheduled for July 11, 13, 15, 18 and 20, 2023. This highly anticipated event will be hosted at the Lindo Park, Dublanc Playing Field and the Castle Bruce Playing Field. Matches are organized to take place simultaneously across the three venues at 3pm on week days and 10am on Saturday.
The DFA believes this event is an absolute necessity in evaluating RTC’s, creating more competitive playing opportunities for our youth, stirring excitement amongst players and connecting our communities.
The inaugural tournament will feature six boys’ and six girls’ teams, essentially one male and one female team per RTC. Each RTC will play the other in a round robin format with each team playing one match per day. A total of 15 boys and 15 girls matches will be played across the 5 days of competition. The competition is sanctioned by the DFA and will feature an innovative competition format in which the field size will be modified/adapted for the girls’ games.
- All games will be free to the public and fans are encouraged to attend and support the tournament. Football coaches and academies are also encouraged to show up in an effort to recruit talent.
- Tournament coverage will be available on DFA Facebook page with a few selected games via live streaming. Highlights of every match will also be available on the DFA Facebook and YouTube pages.
- Those who are interested in volunteer opportunities and need more information about the Tournament are encouraged to contact the Dominica Football Association.
“The RTC program is an initiative the DFA is extremely passionate about and we look forward to hosting a great event to showcase our product.”
In addition to unveiling this exciting event, the DFA will also feature a special tease into a RTC showcase at the newly constructed stock farm football facility.
